Trusted Hands: Agata Zanko

Trusted Hands is a series spotlighting the facialists we trust implicitly — with our skin, and with our brand. These are the practitioners who blend deep technical knowledge with intuitive care, who treat skin as both science and art. They are masters of their craft, passionate educators, and proud stockists of TWYG. We created this series to share their wisdom, celebrate their work, and introduce you to the hands we trust most.

This month, we’re honoured to introduce you to Agata — a facialist whose practice is shaped by both rigorous training and a philosophy that true beauty begins beneath the surface.

Originally from Poland, where she graduated in Cosmetology at the University of Engineering and Health in Warsaw, Agata has built her career specialising in natural methods to strengthen the skin and facial muscles. Her approach goes beyond the surface: instead of focusing only on what’s visible, she works with the deeper structures — bones, fascia, muscles, and fat tissue — that shift with age.

Agata is a practitioner of Kobido and advanced facial sculpting massage — manual therapies that work on the root causes of wrinkles, furrows, and sagging. By stimulating renewal from within, she creates visible, lasting transformations while honouring the body’s natural processes.

Her outlook on life is one of both joy and acceptance: cherishing the good times while embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. This philosophy translates into her treatments, where every session becomes more than skincare — it’s a moment of support, renewal, and deep relaxation. Whether you’re looking to restore youthful vitality, address puffiness or fine lines, or simply reconnect with yourself, Agata offers a pathway to your most confident, radiant self.

She embodies the kind of care TWYG was made for — restorative, intuitive, and deeply connected to the rhythms of nature.

HOW HAS YOUR APPROACH TO SKINCARE EVOLVED OVER THE YEARS?

My approach to skincare has shifted to a more holistic view. It's not just about a product or a quick fix; it's about listening to what your body and mind need. This means making small, consistent choices—like taking time to rest, move, or do breath work—that keep us feeling like ourselves.

WHAT SMALL CHANGES OR HABITS HAVE MADE THE BIGGEST IMPACT ON YOUR SKIN?

Going back to a simple, consistent skincare routine has been key. Incorporating self-massage at home not only helps with de-stressing, but also significantly improves the look of my skin. It's about taking the time for those little rituals.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SKINCARE INGREDIENT?

I don't have one single favorite, but I'm truly passionate about the power of New Zealand-made ingredients, especially those found in TWYG products. The face oil, for instance, is a hero product in my own routine.

WHAT’S THE STRANGEST OR MOST NICHE SKINCARE TOOL, TECHNIQUE OR TREND YOU’VE EVER TRIED (OR SECRETLY LOVE)?

I absolutely love using face dry brushes and facial cupping. They’re a bit niche, but they are a fantastic way to stimulate the face and leave your skin glowing.

WHAT SKINCARE MYTH DO YOU WISH WOULD FINALLY DIE?

I wish the myth that skincare is only for women. Skincare and self-care are for everyone, regardless of gender. Men need facials too!

DO YOU HAVE A RITUAL OR SENSORY CUE THAT GROUNDS YOU BEFORE WORKING WITH YOUR CLIENTS?

I don’t have a specific ritual, but I find that starting the morning with some form of movement, run or walk on the hills, helps me to be fully present and grounded for my clients.

WHAT IS CURRENTLY INSPIRING YOU?

The arrival of spring is a big inspiration for me right now. It feels like a time of new beginnings and regeneration, much like the process we work towards with our skin. Coming back from my travels has also given me a fresh perspective.
